Two Rivers[]
Most of the people living in Two Rivers are farmers, villagers or students at Master Li's school. The only known survivors of the attack on the village are the Player, Master Li, Dawn Star and Sagacious Zu. Tien's Landing[]
Tien's Landing is a small village, populated by farmers, villagers, merchants, fishermen, and the odd incompetent ministry officials. There are also a number of sailors that stay in the town for an extended period of time due to the closing of the Great Dam. Many villagers fled the village after the Dam closed, as their way of life had gone with it.

Ruins of Old Tien's Landing[]
All of the characters found in the ruins are dead (barring Chai Ka), having drowned when the Dam was activated, flooding the town. Most of these characters need help from the player character to pass on.

The Great Southern Forest is, as the name indicates, a forest in the southern reaches of the Jade Empire. The character found here are diverse, being humans, demons, ghosts, deities, and cannibals.

The Imperial Arena is a grand arena where fighters of the Empire do battle for the crowd's entertainment. The arena is run mostly by Kai Lan the Serpent of The Guild , controlling the betting and matches.

Black Leopard School[]
The Black Leopard School is famous across the Empire, though is noted by many to be in a state of turmoil. The school is being run by two masters, neither of whom leave their rooms regularly. One master is dead, and the other is his murderer, so to say that the school has problems would be an understatement.
